Wernyhora is an award-winning folk band from Sanok. In 2021, their album’s material earned them First Prize at the New Tradition Folk Music Festival organised by Polskie Radio, as well as both the Main Prize and Audience Award at the 30th International Folk Music Festival “Mikołajki Folkowe” in 2020.
For their debut album, the band drew inspiration from traditional music of the Bojko region. However, the result is not simply traditional music; the musicians have gone to great lengths to create fresh, innovative arrangements and performances.
Songs from the album have featured in concerts at various prestigious events, including the Ethno Port Festival in Poznań (2021), Etno Rozstaje in Kraków (2021), and the 7th Tournament of Real Musicians in Szczecin (2021).
The album enjoys media support from Dwójka Polskie Radio, the Radio Folk Culture Centre, and Pismo Folkowe magazine.
